Can Jesus Use Me?

Summary:
Matthew 21:3 says that the Lord has a “need”, and it’s the only place in scripture where God said this. God does not need our worship or our offerings or anything else we can bring---we are the ones that have the need to worship and give. We don’t have anything God NEEDS, but there is great reward in being used by God. This story in Matthew shows us the kinds of people God can use. 

Key Points:

1. God doesn’t need the most extravagant gifts and the greatest talent before He can use someone. God can use even a donkey to accomplish His will on the earth. 
2. The church was built by people who would take on great burdens. A donkey is a burden bearer, meant to carry large loads. Somebody has to carry the burden for reaching the lost and caring for the poor. 
3. The greatest blessings you receive come from the greatest burdens you bear. You cannot separate the blessings in life from the burdens of life. The blessing comes from carrying  the burden of Jesus Christ and all He stands for. The greatest blessings come from the heaviest burdens. We want the easy things---but God has great blessings for you if you will carry the burdens of Jesus.
4. Jesus calls and uses the unqualified. You don’t have to know everything for God to use you. What qualifies you is your willingness, not your talent. God doesn’t just use stallions, he uses donkeys too. 
5. You have to carry the burden, but Jesus will do the heavy lifting. It’s a burden when you are a true Christian. But you don’t have to do it alone---grace will lighten the load and pick you up when you fall. 
6. Jesus looks for endurance, not speed. A mule is not a race horse. This is an endurance race---not a sprint. 
7. We have to cross the finish line with our torch still burning. Our very last breath should still have the fire of the Holy Spirit burning strong. 
8. You carry the burden, but Jesus gets the glory. God gets the praise and the honor. You must be willing to just be the donkey that carries Jesus to the multitudes.
9. Jesus can’t use you until you get untied. What is your life tied to that keeps you from being used by God? You need to be willing to be led. You need discipleship. You need leadership to come under. 
10. Jesus is looking for burden bearers. He is looking for workers to send to a world that is searching for Jesus. We must bring Jesus to the world and into the cities of the world. 

Final Thoughts: 
If you have been blessed by God then your praise should be bold and consistent. When you are tied to the world, your scenery never changes. When you are tied to an addiction or an immoral life, that’s all you will see. But when Jesus unties you and gets in you He will steer your life and you will see a whole new world. We think too small. God WILL and CAN use you. Get loosed today and Jesus will change the road you’re walking on. Can Jesus use you? Yes, but only if you allow Him to lead you like the donkey in the story. Jesus is not looking for stallions---He’s looking for you.
